Arnaud Vanhove, pilot at Brussels Airlines, and his fiancée Marie, have engaged in a unique project, fully supported the Brussels Airlines’ b.foundation for Africa: in September 2013, they get married and they decided to associate their wedding day with a humanitarian project in Africa, more in particular the construction of a second classroom in a little school in Emurua Olerai (South Kenya, Loita Maasai tribe) in cooperation with the Belgian organisation A.MI.E (Aide médicale Internationale pour les Enfants). A first classroom was built a couple of years ago, but the local population desperately needs a second classroom as today children of different ages and levels share the same room. There is even a need for a third classroom.
Arnaud and Marie are committed to this project, which they will support through their marriage. Their goal is to raise €13.000 to finance the construction of a second classroom (material, foundations, doors, windows, man hours, chairs, black board, …). Actually their dream is to raise the double (€26.000) for a 3rd classroom as well.
Furthermore, the couple decided not only to raise funds, but also to participate personally and physically on site. Their proposal to their families and friends is quite unique: come with us to Kenya during two weeks in October and let’s build this classroom together! B.foundation for Africa helps to keep transportation costs under control, whilst participants pay for their own expenses.
You can support Arnaud by buying a virtual brick of the school for €30. Your gift will be fully used for the purchase of construction material for the school. For donations and more information about this fantastic project, visit the website: www.arnaudmarie.be.
